How it works

  1. We take the average of the last 12 months of energy usage at your home.
  2. You’re protected from higher bills caused by seasonal weather changes, unpredictable fuel prices, anticipated rate changes and potential shifts in your energy use with a small premium.
  3. Based on the above information, a personalized bill amount is created specifically for you and your energy needs.1

Do I have to re-enroll each year?

  • Once you are enrolled, there is no need to re-enroll each year. 
  • If eligible, you will automatically receive a new offer on your anniversary month based on your most recent usage.
  • If you would like to remain in the program and continue receiving the benefits, no action is needed. 

How can I reduce my Fixed Rate amount for the future?

  • While we can't guarantee that your Fixed Rate amount will be less in the future, your billed amount is based on your actual usage.
  • You should continue to keep an eye on your energy usage and conserve energy when possible. 

What will my bill show?

  • Each month your bill will show your actual energy usage and your billed amount.
  • Your billed amount will be equal to your Fixed Rate amount, plus any taxes, fees or other charges for products and services you may be enrolled in.

How do I cancel FPL Fixed Rate?

  • If you choose to discontinue from the program, you can do so on FPL.com.
  • Once you discontinue, you will not be eligible to re-enroll in Fixed Rate for 12 months.
  • If you are discontinued before the end of the one-year agreement, for any reason, you will be responsible for the difference between the amount of energy used and the amount you paid.
